![]() ![]() Now let's take it to the next level and make it work for worldwide organizations. The product works great otherwise and huge benefit for us. I would argue this is the biggest issues for ManicTime right now. Regarless, as more and more of us work from various worldwide locations, this simply needs to be addressed logically and failing to adhere to UTC is no longer possible for a product such as ManicTime. For desktop users if they move locations then the statistics are probably less important. who arrived to work the earliest" could be confusing with multi-time-zone groups but this goes back to the Server setups. We don't move our server so I don't see a huge need.Īs for users of just the desktop product then if the user changes their timezone, how about displaying a warning? Ultimately I certainly understand how statistical reports based on "e.g. So changing the server timezone would be the only situation we'd have a problem. In my case the statistic reports are mostly generated by servers. Clearly the server is taking the phone data and improperly modifying it and NOT storing in proper UTC.Īs for changing timezones and the affect on statistics. Those people's phone time lines must be all messed up. I'm sure I'm not the only person traveling with their phone, or what about people who live near a timezone border and their phone automatically adjusts by 1 hour. I don't know if it's the ManicTime Server or Android client that is causing this issue. This is clearly a bug and requires immediately attention. My phone data is being misrepresented in the Windows desktop client as happening 12 hours later than it really did. My phone times are clearly being stored with the wrong UTC offset. If ManicTime really does store everything in UTC and only presents it to us via the client then why is there a difference between these timelines. Sometimes its only five hours (Germany and USA don't change to/from Daylight Saving Time on the same schedule). Also Germany isn't always six hours off from Eastern USA. This is very confusing and difficult to account for. 08:00 in Germany is actually 02:00 in the Eastern USA. NOTE: I have a client/server deployment with ManicTime Server in Eastern USA.įor examplem my 08:00 phone activity in Germany shows up on my USA based ManicTime server as 14:00. So when I look at my timelines all my phone activity is offset, but not like you would expect. My office computer is set to the Eastern USA. I use ManicTime on my Android phone to track phone calls and locations. Why? I live in Germany UTC+1 however my employment is actually in the Eastern USA UTC-5. Even if this type of functionality was intentional, I agree it's simply a BUG. As commented below by John on March 2016 - yes over three years ago, "To me it's a bug.". For those of you who will try it, we would love some feedback. This needs to be fixed. We suggest you try it, especially if you are using a lot of Adobe or 3d modelling apps. So far, I cant figure out a way to reboot users if their idle time is over an hour fo. In the System Info tool, you can see user sessions with idle time. In the restart command, you can restart PCs, prompt users, or restart if no one is logged in. If you enable this in Settings, Tracking, then ManicTime will try to get full path of the document opened. Reboot PCs if Users have idle time over x hours. ![]() We were not successful, but in the process we added some code which could help some users. Improve this and add full path document tracking to most applications without writing special plugins for them. Most of the time it only gets a file name, not full path. ManicTime tracks documents with plugins written for specific application. You can also export to Excel from command line with "/excel" option. csv import, so now we added a true Excel export.Īll exports in ManicTime now support Excel format. In a combat game, there are no good guys. But in the next level, he's not going to show you any mercy.īut that's what makes a combat game different from an adventure game or a shooter, or any of the other genres that feature Nintendo characters. There are levels where Donkey Kong might fight with you against Mario and Luigi. arena, it's every elf, dinosaur, plumber and gorilla for himself. (I have yet to see a commercial with Barbie and Skipper in a cat fight.)īut this is the sort of play-acting that Nintendo has sanctioned with Super Smash Bros. Joe on fire and little girls hack Barbie's hair off, but not with the blessings of Hasbro and Mattel. Of course, kids do this all the time with their toys. And it's equally surprising that the company would allow its characters, who are all supposed to be friends, to shake it up. It's mind-boggling that Nintendo would put Mario in the same category as Chuckie. Do you really want it in your room while you're sleeping? After you've seen Kirby whip a giant blade out of nowhere, it's hard to trust your Kirby doll in the same unconditional way. Watching them clobber one another is a subversive thrill on the order of ''South Park'' or ''Celebrity Death Match.'' Probably more so, because it introduces an element of uncertainty into a universe of plush merchandise. They're meant to be soft, harmless cuddling objects. It's exciting, because stuffed animals are not supposed to be gladiators. Because it's more fun to watch martial arts performed by stuffed animals. David Lynch could not have done it better.Īnd you have to hand it to Nintendo for giving its candyland a sharp elbow to the ribs. It's like seeing ''Das Boot'' staged aboard the Yellow Submarine - a dizzying cocktail of aggression and kitsch. ![]() Playing a combat game in this environment, with these characters, is shocking and funny, and vaguely horrifying. In Kirby's Dreamland, the Teletubbies would not look out of place among the friendly trees, crystalline water puddles and pastel flowers dotting an emerald lawn. On Yoshi's home turf, a pink heart-shaped sun smiles, showering sunbeams through orange and blue clouds. Mario's battle zone is in the upper reaches of Princess Peach's castle. A magic wand can be used to shoot stars at your opponents from a distance or clobber them over the head at close range.Īll of this takes place in a series of environments that make Disneyland look gothic. A fire flower, once plucked, functions as a flame thrower. A bowling ball with legs will explode if lobbed at the enemy, or just waddle around until its timer reaches zero. There is a small arsenal of shiny, happy weapons, if you're quick enough to pick them up when they spontaneously appear. ![]() Kirby, the most adorable creature in Nintendo's pantheon - a pink puffball with blinky eyes - turns out to be hiding a machete somewhere in that little round body, and if you hit the right button combination, he wields it with a viciousness you wouldn't expect from a plush animal. It's a high-pitched baby sneeze - ''Pika-CHOO!'' Then lightning bolts shoot out of his dainty mouth, frying anything within range. Pokemon's adorable mascot, Pikachu, sneezes destruction. ![]() ![]() ![]() Dying in this game is really costly in that you may have to start from a point that was a pain in the ass to get past in the first place. Considering the difficulty of the game it would have better to have checkpoints in more frequency. The goal of each stage is really to get to the checkpoints as best you can because they so scarce and spaced out so far in between each other. That boss caused me to rage quit once and it took me forever to defeat him. There is NO boss more annoying than the water Mekadragon. Just so you know ahead of time, if you play this game. You’ll die a couple of times for sure but once you figure it out you’ll feel like a boss. Each boss has a unique pattern and a way for you to do damage to them. Again, the boss fights are an ode to the past. Cyber Shadow is a game that will make you want to break your controller, but don’t do it.īoss fights are annoying but oddly rewarding. ![]() Well timed jumps and strikes require practice and the enemies are unforgiving, They’ll keep coming and they always seem to fire a projectile and knock you back always at the right time. Obstacles are a plenty and enemies are strategically placed. They’re full of color and accurate to the premise of the game. Replay of stages is also a major plus for this game. Whereas in Ninja Gaiden, you couldn’t build on Ryu even as the game progressed. You can do this to find more powerups to extend your health and spirit bar. Not only are power-ups huge for Shadow as you can go back through the stages that you already completed via the kiosks and find areas you couldn’t otherwise get to earlier in the game. These powerups are so important to your progress going forward, especially when you finally get the wall climb. Power Ups and progression are really nice in this game and at the time of this review I have not completed the game in it’s entirety but out of the 7 available powerups I have 6. For starters, Shadow has a strike forward only sword and she cannot crouch and strike which is so detrimental and adds difficulty to an already difficult game, can’t figure that decision out. Ninja Gaiden references are apropos here but there are a lot of differences to this game that separate the two games entirely. Shadow is now on a quest to find her master and “save the world”. Progen has gone bad and turned what was once a thriving society to shit. You’ll play the game as heroine “Shadow” and basically the game takes place in an apocalyptic/dystopian era in the city of Mekapolis where it appears that a power hungry scientist Dr. Fast paced linear action, hacking, slashing and jumping. ![]() WHAT’S CYBER SHADOW ABOUT? HOW’S THE GAMEPLAY?Ĭyber Shadow’s gameplay is exactly what you expect from an 8-bit side scrolling Ninja Gaiden style game. This is a fantastic game and even though it’s still very early in 2021 this game is already one of my favorites of the year. Cyber Shadow is a game that takes the best of what Ninja Gaiden was and improves on it in such a way that the GstyleGaming crew looked at this game as an homage to a classic. ![]() The Ninja Gaiden series of games, specifically the ones on the NES are one of the great series of games of all time. I’m sure that the creators of Cyber Shadow don’t want their game to be compared to any other based on what the title of this article suggests, but in this case it’s not at all a bad thing. ![]() ![]() if F1 is fully lit and F2 is half lit, you are 30 meters above ground. The album consists of seven songs unified by irregular time signatures, and it was inspired by music the quartet heard while on a State Department-sponsored tour of the Middle East and India. Ironically, Columbia Records only allowed the album to be released under the assumption that the quartet would go back to recording jazz standards for subsequent projects. The song came from the album Time Out which spent 164 weeks on the Billboard 200 in 1959, and was the first jazz LP to sell one million copies. It was written by his legendary saxophonist, Paul Desmond. Five,” along with “Blue Rondo a la Turk,” is a tune that is forever branded with our association of Dave Brubeck. For most of those interviews, we would meet the artist at their hotel or concert hall, but Brubeck was so humble and unassuming that he drove to our studio for an on-air conversation. I was a young student broadcaster when my dad interviewed Dave Brubeck in the late 1980s. Doc Severinsen, John Browning, Richard Stoltzman, John Wallace, and Aaron Copland all come to mind. Whenever a performing artist was touring through the area to play with the local symphony or headline a jazz festival, my dad could always pull some strings and land an interview, often giving the students access to these performers. He was the Program Director of a small radio station in Chesapeake, and it served as a vocational school where students could learn how to run a broadcast studio. He has, however, never actually been shown to be on a serious date with any woman in the manga or 2009 anime any flirtatious interactions he had with women seemed to be nothing more than a cover to discretely pass along information. This adds another facet to his unpopularity among the enlisted men, many of whom fear having sweethearts and crushes romanced away from them by his hand. ![]() Roy also has a reputation of being a shameless flirt, and it's rumored that he spends much of his time cavorting about town with various women and wooing several of the servicewomen with his abundant charm, good looks and charisma. Roy is expertly manipulative and prone to think several steps ahead of those around him, giving him a remarkable talent for making subordinates act exactly as he wishes despite appearing not to have had a hand in their decisions - all traits which make the fact that he has managed to attain the lofty rank of colonel at such a young age a matter of public gossip. He comes off to most as a sort of cocky layabout, shirking most of his duties and delegating his paperwork to subordinates while sitting idly at his desk with an amused smile on his face as he procrastinates, but is quick to take action when it appears that there is glory and military notoriety to be gained. Easily as arrogant as his young protégé Edward, Colonel Mustang is one to act in an ostentatious manner and appears to act mostly out of self-interest rather than any sort of philanthropy. On the surface, Roy seems to be a shallow, self-absorbed and an incorrigible womanizer who is infamous among many of his colleagues and subordinates alike for the selfish and narcissistic aura he gives off. He also carries a large burn wound on his left side, lower back and abdomen from the same event. Roy's dark hair - perhaps in keeping with his persona - is worn casually unkempt, falling over his eyes in more formal or somber situations, however, he is known to wear it neatly slicked back.Ī great fan of classy attire, Mustang is rarely seen out of uniform (and even while in uniform will often don other accouterments, such as a long, black overcoat and white formal-wear gloves), but when dressed in civilian clothes, he appears rather partial to the three-piece suit and black tie (frequently coupled with classic scarves, polished dress shoes and the aforementioned overcoat and gloves).
